Outbound Sales Adviser
What Will I Be Doing?
You will be calling potential customers who have previously been in touch with us and who are happy for us to contact them, for example coming up to an insurance renewal date.
Or it may be contacting people who have visited our website and left their contact details. These leads are typically warm and very responsive. We do not do "cold calling".
Whilst your main objective will be offer quotes on our household and motor insurance and to close a sale at first contact, customer satisfaction is also paramount. The role requires the use of sales techniques, objection handling and close adherence to regulatory requirements (our excellent training covers all of this!).
We work in teams of 10. Each team has a Team Manager whose job it is to provide ongoing support in terms of coaching and development.
What Skills and Experience Do I Need?
Some experience in a similar role would be preferable. Whatever your experience, you should have a confident telephone manner, be target driven and have an enthusiastic and positive approach to sales. If you have worked to targets in the past, have a sales, retail or customer service background we would like to hear from you.
What Are the Working Hours?
If you are full-time you will be working 36.25 hours a week (on average 7.25 per day).
Because we need to contact customers at the times when they are available to speak to us, you will be working your hours on a rota basis. These cover Monday to Friday across 3 different shifts - 10.30-19.00, 11:00-19:30 and 11:30-20:00 (19.00 latest finish on a Friday) and 1 in 3 Saturdays 09:00-15:00, with a lieu day in the week where you work on a Saturday.
We plan these well in advance so you have plenty of time to understand when you will be working. We also try to accommodate any personal needs as best we can.
How Much Can I Earn?
Basic starting salaries are up to £15k (depending on experience). We also pay an Outbound Allowance in addition to basic salary.
Once you've completed your initial training and you go onto your team, you can start earning bonus. Our bonus scheme is easy to understand and there are no hidden catches, so when we say uncapped that's exactly what we mean! The harder (and smarter) you work, the more you can earn.
In addition to regular team social events, we also offer regular incentive prizes from vouchers through to holidays, plasma TV's etc. for our top performing sales people.
How Does The Bonus Scheme Work?
It's designed to be easy to understand and apply.
Quite simply, you get paid an amount of money for each sale you make. You can add to this by offering customers additional products that meet their needs, for example legal protection or breakdown cover. Throughout the month you can see how your bonus is growing.
Payment of bonus is dependent on how well you perform - this includes how well you treat our customers and how you do your job as well as the number of sales you make.
Bonus is paid monthly in arrears.
What Training Will I Get?
We pride ourselves on the quality of our training.
Everyone, regardless of experience, goes through an initial two week intensive training programme followed by a short period in what we call our "Model Office".
The training programme prepares you to go onto your team and make a successful transition into the role. It covers everything you need to know about our products, using our policy system, what to cover in a customer call, the regulatory requirements and the sales process and techniques.
You'll get lots of support, not only from your Trainer but also from your Team Manager throughout your training period. This continues through the "Model Office" when you will be taking live calls from customers as part of your transition onto your team.
During training you will receive continuous feedback and coaching to help you improve your knowledge and skills. Once you and we are happy that you are fully prepared and ready, you will move onto your team in the contact centre.
